Interbank Rate

…A swap transaction is a simultaneous transaction of a spot transaction and a futures transaction in the opposite direction, or two futures transactions in the opposite direction with different delivery dates, in the same amount and with the same counterparty. The exchange rate established in the interbank market (market rate, or interbank rate) is the basis for the exchange bank's customer rate, but traders and others use this customer rate as a given to conduct various international transactions, and the resulting supply and demand of foreign exchange is reflected again in the interbank rate. The interbank market is divided into those where parties gather at a specific place every day to buy and sell foreign exchange (Germany, Italy, France, etc.), and those where it refers to an abstract place that integrates individual transactions conducted by telephone, telex, and electronic media (computer lines) (New York, London, Tokyo, etc.). …
