Save - Se-bu (English spelling) Maurice Scève

French poet. Leader of the "School of Lyon". Born in Lyon, where Renaissance culture flourished, he became the center of that literary movement. In 1536, his work "Eyebrows" won first place at the "Blason" poetry contest, and in the same year, he established his position as a poet with a poem he contributed to the "Mourning Poems" for the Dauphin who died suddenly in Lyon. His representative collection of poems, "Derry, the Object of Supreme Virtue" (1544), which is said to have originated from his love affair with Pernette Du Guillet (c. 1520-45), a female poet of the Lyon school, was influenced by Petrarchism and Neoplatonism, but also woven with sincere emotion, and its modern lyricism and musicality are reminiscent of Baudelaire. He was revered as a pioneer by Pleiade poets such as Ronsard. His other works include the lyrical pastoral poem "The Willows" (1547), which sings of a solitary life of seclusion, and the philosophical and scientific epic poem "The Microcosm" (published posthumously in 1562), which depicts the history of mankind beginning with the creation of Adam and Eve.His obscure yet elegant style of poetry has been compared to that of Valéry and Mallarmé.

フランスの詩人。「リヨン詩派」の首領。ルネサンス文化の花開いたリヨンに生まれ、その文芸運動の中心となる。1536年「賦(ブラゾン)」blason競詩会で『眉(まゆ)』が一位になり、さらに同年、リヨンで急死した王太子の『追悼詩集』に寄せた詩編により、詩人としての決定的な地位を確立する。リヨン派の女流詩人ペルネット・デュ・ギエPernette Du Guillet（1520ころ―45）との恋愛より出発しているといわれる代表詩集『デリー、至高の徳の対象』（1544）は、ペトラルキスムとネオ・プラトニスムの影響を受けながら、そこに真摯(しんし)な感情を織り込み、その現代的な叙情と音楽性は、ボードレールをも思わせる。彼は、ロンサールらプレイアード派の詩人たちから先駆者として敬意を表された。ほかに、孤独な隠遁(いんとん)生活を歌った叙情的な牧歌『柳叢(りゅうそう)曲』（1547）、アダムとイブの創造より始まる人類の歴史を描いた哲学的、科学的叙事詩『小宇宙(ミクロコスム)』（1562没後刊）があり、彼の晦渋(かいじゅう)ながら高雅な詩風はバレリー、マラルメと比較されている。
