Székesfehérvár - Székesfehérvár (English spelling)

The capital of Fejer County in central-western Hungary. It is located about 70 km southwest of the capital Budapest. It has a population of 106,346 (2001). It was devastated during World War II, but after the war, in addition to traditional industries such as food, leather, and woodworking, the aluminum and light metal industries and the radio and television electronics industries developed. It is a city with a long history, and there are many archaeological and historical monuments around the city, such as the Hungarian royal cemetery, which is now a park, a museum, and Roman ruins.

ハンガリー中西部、フェイエール県の県都。首都ブダペスト南西方約70キロメートルにある。人口10万6346（2001）。第二次世界大戦で壊滅的な被害を受けたが、戦後、食品、皮革、木工などの伝統的な工業に加えて、アルミニウム・軽金属工業、ラジオ・テレビなどの電子機器工業が発展した。古い歴史を有する都市で、市内外には現在公園となっているハンガリー王家の墓地や博物館、ローマ遺跡など、考古・歴史的記念物が多い。
