The capital of Fejer County in central-western Hungary. It is located about 70 km southwest of the capital Budapest. It has a population of 106,346 (2001). It was devastated during World War II, but after the war, in addition to traditional industries such as food, leather, and woodworking, the aluminum and light metal industries and the radio and television electronics industries developed. It is a city with a long history, and there are many archaeological and historical monuments around the city, such as the Hungarian royal cemetery, which is now a park, a museum, and Roman ruins.
