Red soil country

Japanese:
Red soil country

A nation that existed in the southern part of the Malay Peninsula in the 7th century. The country was named after the red color of its soil. There are various theories about its location, but it was probably in the Kelantan River basin on the east coast of the southern Malay Peninsula. According to the "Records of the Red Earth Kingdom" in the "Book of Sui," Mahayana Buddhism was thriving in the Red Earth Kingdom, and there were many Brahmins, and Brahmanism was also practiced there. Between 607 and 610, Changshun and Wang Junzheng visited the Red Earth Kingdom as envoys from the Sui Dynasty and wrote the "Records of the Red Earth Kingdom," but this has since been lost. The country disappeared from historical records after sending its last envoy to China, the Tang Dynasty, in 669.
