Spinning frame

Japanese: 精紡機 - せいぼうき（英語表記）spinning frame

A machine used in the spinning process of spinning. The roving yarn is stretched to make fine fiber bundles, which are then twisted as required to make single yarns and wound up. There are various types of spinning machines, such as ring spinning machines, flyer spinning machines, cap spinning machines, and mule spinning machines, and the most widely used today is the ring spinning machine. There is also a high-speed spinning machine based on a unique principle that is used for open-end spinning, and is sometimes called the open-end spinning machine.

紡績の精紡工程に用いられる機械。粗糸を引伸して細い繊維束とし，これに所要の撚 (よ) りを与えて単糸にして巻取る。リング精紡機，フライヤ精紡機，キャップ精紡機，ミュール精紡機などがあり，現在最も広く用いられるのはリング精紡機である。なお，独特の原理に基づいた高速の精紡機として，オープンエンド紡績に用いられる精紡機があり，オープンエンド精紡機と呼ばれることがある。
