Red Karina

…He served in the navy for four years, but retired in 1952 due to poor health. He worked as a substitute teacher in his hometown before entering the Film University in 1954. He distinguished himself as an actor, and in the mid-1960s he created his own world as a short story writer and film director, but he died suddenly on location after completing Red Carina (1973), a film he wrote and performed himself, which cemented his national popularity. The world of his works is set against the backdrop of the material and spiritual loss in rural areas due to the dramatic outflow of rural population after the war, and the general homogenization of society.
