A former town in Kita District, central Ehime Prefecture. Most of the area is mountainous, with the main settlement developing in the basin of a tributary of the Hiji River. It has long been the center of Ozu-hanshi paper production, and now has a machine-made paper factory. The town is famous for its kite battles made from washi paper.
