A percussion instrument used in traditional Japanese music. Also known as the atari gong, yosuke, or changiri. It is a metal dish-shaped instrument with a diameter of about 12 to 20 cm, and its inside is rubbed or struck with a small mallet-shaped stick held in the right hand. It can be held directly in the left hand, or hung by a string attached to the side.
