Edam
Edam: Cheese produced in the Edam region of the Netherlands. It is spherical, slightly flattened at the top and bottom. It is a hard type. It is one of the most representative cheeses in the Netherlands. It can be eaten as is, or grated into powdered cheese for use in cooking. It is also nicknamed "akadama" in Japan, as it is exported coated with red wax.
