Spanish Autonomous Right Confederation (English: Confederación Española de Derechas Autónomas)

The largest right-wing party during the Second Spanish Republic (1931-36). It was called CEDA for short. It was founded in March 1933 by the Popular Accion and the Valencian Regional Right Party. Its leader was José María Gil Robles. Its initial goal was to form a grand right-wing coalition for the general election in November of that year, but the royalists dropped out over the acceptance of the republic. Its supporters were capitalists and small and medium-sized landowners, and it advocated the protection of Catholicism and private property, and opposed social reform.

スペイン第二共和国時代(1931‐36)最大の右翼政党。略称セダ(CEDA)。1933年3月，〈アクシオン･ポプラール〉と〈バレンシア地方右翼党〉を中心に結成された。党首ヒル･ロブレスJosé María Gil Robles。当初の目標は同年11月総選挙に際しての右翼の大連合であったが，共和制の容認をめぐり王党派が脱落。支持層は資本家，中小地主で，カトリックと私有財産の擁護とを主張し，社会改革に反対した。
