spoon

Japanese:
spoon
Also called a spoon. A small tool used to scoop up liquids, powders, medicines, etc. and carry them to the mouth or into a container. In the West, spoons have been made from wood, shells, stone, and bronze since ancient times and used for cooking. However, food was mainly eaten with the hands, so there were no personal spoons. In the Middle Ages, people carried their own spoons when traveling, and in the 19th century, knives, forks, and spoons were prepared for each person. In Japan, rice spoons were used to serve rice during the Heian period, and later tea spoons used to scoop matcha (green tea) and medicine spoons used to prepare medicines were made from wood or bamboo, but now Western-style metal spoons are widespread. There are large table spoons, dessert spoons for fruits and desserts, small tea spoons, and long-handled soda spoons, and they are made of silver plating, chrome plating, stainless steel, etc. Note that a tablespoon is 15cc and a teaspoon is 5cc as a standard for cooking.
