A town in the Côte d'Or department in central-eastern France. It is located about 40 km south-southwest of Dijon, at the eastern foot of the Côte d'Or hills known as the "Golden Roofs". It has been the center of Burgundy wine production since Gallo-Roman times, and has a vocational training center for grape growing and wine production. The most distinctive building is the Beaune Hospitaller (1443), with its Flemish-style painted tile roof, and the famous altarpiece "The Last Judgment" by Rogier van der Weyden. The Romanesque Notre-Dame Cathedral (12th century) has a collection of tapestries, the Church of Saint Nicholas, and the castle of the Duke of Burgundy, which is now a wine museum. Part of the circular town is still surrounded by medieval walls. Every November, a wine festival called "Three Glorious Days" is held, attracting many tourists. In 2015, it was registered as a World Heritage Site along with Dijon as a wine-producing region (→Burgundy). Population: 21,300 (2005 estimate).

フランス中東部，コートドール県の町。「黄金の屋根」と呼ばれるコートドール丘陵の東麓，ディジョンの南南西約 40kmに位置する。ガロ・ローマ時代からのブルゴーニュワイン（→ワイン）生産の中心地で，ブドウ栽培やワイン生産に関する職業訓練センターがある。最も特色ある建築物は，フラマン風の彩色瓦の屋根をもつボーヌ施療院（1443）で，ロヒール・ファン・デル・ワイデンの有名な祭壇画『最後の審判』がある。ロマネスク様式のノートルダム聖堂（12世紀）にはタペストリーの収集があり，聖ニコラ教会，ワイン博物館となったブルゴーニュ公の城館などがある。円形の町の一部はいまも中世の城壁に囲まれている。毎年 11月にはワイン祭り「栄光の3日間」が開催され，多くの観光客が訪れる。2015年，ワインの生産地としてディジョンとともに世界遺産の文化遺産に登録された（→ブルゴーニュ）。人口 2万1300（2005推計）。
