A breed of dog. Originally native to the cold regions, it refers to dogs used for pulling sleds, guarding livestock, hunting, etc., and includes the Husky, Samoyed, and Wolfspitz. All of them are characterized by upright ears, curled tails, pointed snouts, and thick fur. In Japan, it usually refers to the white Mittelspitz and Japanese Spitz, which were bred in Germany.
