Lake Kamaki

This artificial lake is located in the southwest of Moroyama Town, Iruma County, Saitama Prefecture. It is an agricultural water reservoir created by damming the Oyagi River, a tributary of the Oppe River. It was completed in 1935 (Showa 10). It has a full water area of ​​4 hectares, a storage capacity of 300,000 cubic meters, a circumference of about 2 kilometers, and a maximum depth of 18.4 meters. Surrounded by the Hiki Hills, this quiet lake is also known as the Maiden Lake and is the center of the Prefectural Kuroyama Nature Park. It is crowded with tourists who come for boating and fishing. On the lakeside is the Lake Kamokita Lake View Hostel, and the Okumusashi Nature Trail leads to Tenranyama in Hanno City. It is a 45-minute walk from Moro Station or a 60-minute walk from Higashimoro Station. You can also use the Moro Town Circular Bus on weekdays.

埼玉県入間(いるま)郡毛呂山町(もろやままち)の南西部にある人造湖。越辺(おっぺ)川の支流大谷木(おおやぎ)川を堰(せ)き止めた農業用水池である。1935年(昭和10)完成。満水面積4ヘクタール、貯水量30万立方メートル、周囲約2キロメートル、最大水深18.4メートル。比企(ひき)丘陵に囲まれた静かな湖で、乙女の湖ともいわれ県立黒山(くろやま)自然公園の中心地。ボート遊び、釣りなどの行楽客でにぎわう。湖畔には鎌北湖レイクビューホステルがあり、奥武蔵(おくむさし)自然歩道が飯能(はんのう)市天覧山(てんらんざん)まで通じている。毛呂駅から徒歩45分、または東毛呂駅から徒歩60分。平日は毛呂町内循環バスの利用も可。
