Stresa (English spelling)
A town on the west shore of Lake Maggiore in Novara Province, Piedmont, northwest Italy. Located about 65 km northwest of Milan, it is famous as a resort and conference venue due to its beautiful scenery and pleasant climate. It is known for furniture manufacturing. In April 1935, representatives of the UK, France, and Italy formed the Stresa Front against Nazi Germany. Population 4,636 (1991 estimate).
