960‐1014 King of Denmark. Reigned from 985 to 1014. Around 985, he rebelled against his father, Harald Blåtand (?-985), and seized the throne. From 994 onwards, he made repeated campaigns in England and collected large amounts of Dane geld from his father. In 1000, he defeated King Olav I of Norway and took control of southern Norway.
