Stresa Conference - Stresa Conference

In 1935, the leaders of Britain, France, and Italy met in Stresa, northern Italy, to discuss the German threat and European international relations. They also discussed plans for a tripartite alliance. However, in October of that year, Italy began the Ethiopian War (Italian-Ethiopian War), which led to a collapse of the plan and a rapprochement between Germany and Italy. 1935年ドイツの再軍備宣言に対抗して英・仏・伊３国首脳が北イタリアのストレーザStresaで開いた会議。ドイツの脅威とそれをめぐるヨーロッパの国際関係について検討，３国連合の計画も討議された。しかし同年10月イタリアがエチオピア戦争（イタリア・エチオピア戦争）を開始したのでこの計画は崩れ，逆に独・伊の接近が始まった。
