Alice in Wonderland Syndrome - Syndrome of Alice in Wonderland

Alice in Wonderland Syndrome - Syndrome of Alice in Wonderland
This syndrome, which is primarily characterized by experiences of transformations of one's own body image and objects in the outside world, was first described by British psychiatrist J. Todd in 1955. The name is, of course, derived from the work of the same name by Lewis Carroll (1865), but the strange phenomena experienced by Alice in the work are so realistic that it is imagined that the author himself may have actually suffered from similar experiences. It is seen in epilepsy, cerebral diseases, intoxication caused by mescaline or LSD, febrile delirium, hypnotic states, schizophrenia, etc., and the theory that the lesion is localized in the parietal lobe has been pointed out.
