Suserihime-no-Mikoto

Japanese:
Suserihime-no-Mikoto

Daughter of Susanoo-no-Mikoto. When Oonamuchi-no-Kami visited Ne-no-Kuni, he was put into the snake, centipede, and bee chambers by Susanoo-no-Mikoto and put to the test. Susanoo gave Oonamuchi-no-Kami a fin of a charm to help him escape the danger, and Oonamuchi-no-Kami became his wife. Oonamuchi-no-Kami then stole the sacred weapons and ritual vessels and escaped from Ne-no-Kuni together with Susanoo-no-Mikoto. Oonamuchi-no-Kami was able to become Okuninushi-no-Mikoto (ruler of Ashiwara-no-Nakatsukuni) only after marrying Suserihime-no-Mikoto, so it can be said that he has the essence of a shrine maiden king. Furthermore, Wakasuserihime-no-mikoto, who appears in the "Izumo no Kuni Fudoki" (Kanto no Korinamesa no Sato), is likely the original image of this deity.
