The name of a koji troupe that was active in Yamato during the Muromachi period. It was also called Goi-za because it was formed by residents of Goi-sho. Meimuro is another name for a greenhouse for warming koji, i.e., a koji room. Koji troupes were called by various names in medieval Yamato, including Uhan-za, which was named after the manufacturing method, and Meimuro-za is thought to be one of these names. The Meimuro-za had its headquarters in Daijo-in Temple of Kofuku-ji Temple, and competed with other koji troupes, including Daibutsu-ku-za, Uhan-za, Otogi-za, Takeuchi-za, and Kihara-za, for sales rights in the Yamato Basin.
