Sucking ointment - Suidashikou

Japanese: 吸出膏 - すいだしこう

Also known as "octopus sucking out," it has long been used as a home remedy for treating "swellings." It is an oily ointment that stimulates suppurative skin diseases (carbuncles, boils, kneads, and other swellings) from the outside, opening the affected area and draining the pus, leading to a cure. Nowadays, suppurative skin diseases themselves have become less common, so it is rarely used. Its ingredients include vegetable oil, pine resin, wood wax, paraffin, white petrolatum, copper sulfate, balsam of Peru, acetic acid, and salicylic acid.

別名〈たこの吸出し〉ともいい，古くから〈はれもの〉の治療に家庭薬として使用されている。油脂性軟膏で，化膿性皮膚疾患(癰（よう），疔（ちよう），よこね，その他のはれもの)に外部より刺激を与え，患部を口開し膿を排出して治癒させる。現在は皮膚の化膿性疾患そのものが少なくなってきたため，ほとんど用いられていない。成分は，植物油，松脂，木蠟，パラフィン，白色ワセリン，硫酸銅，ペルーバルサム，酢酸，サリチル酸など。
