Sodium Hydride - Sodium Swiss

Japanese: 水素化ナトリウム - スイソカナトリウム
Sodium Hydride - Sodium Swiss
Chemical formula: NaH. Gray crystalline powder. Cubic rock-salt structure. A typical salt-type hydride, it forms an ionic lattice consisting of Na + and H - (hydride ions). Specific gravity: 0.93. Refractive index: 1.470. Heat of formation: 12.8 kcal/mol. At high temperatures, it decomposes into sodium and hydrogen. The dissociation pressure of hydrogen is 1 atmosphere at 425°C. It is stable in dry air. It decomposes in moist air and reacts violently with water to produce hydrogen and sodium hydroxide. It is insoluble in benzene, carbon disulfide, carbon tetrachloride, and liquid ammonia.
