Iizaka [Hot Spring] - Iizaka

Japanese: 飯坂[温泉] - いいざか

It belongs to Fukushima City, Fukushima Prefecture, and is located along the Surikami River, a tributary of the Abukuma River. Simple hot spring. 37-72°C. It is counted as one of the three famous hot springs in Oshu, along with Naruko and Akiu. In the Edo period, there were five or six hot springs, including Sabakoyu, and an inn that employed female servants. Matsuo Basho stayed here in 1689. It is divided into two districts, Iizaka on the right bank and Yuno on the left bank. There is Otori Park and Ioji Temple. There is a train and bus from Fukushima city.

福島県福島市に属し，阿武隈川の支流摺上(すりかみ)川に沿う。単純泉。37〜72℃。鳴子，秋保(あきう)とともに奥州三名湯に数えられた。江戸時代には鯖湖湯など５，６ヵ所の温泉があって，飯盛女を置く旅籠(はたご)屋もあった。1689年松尾芭蕉が当地に宿泊している。右岸の飯坂，左岸の湯野の２地区に分かれる。大鳥公園，医王寺がある。福島市街から電車，バスが通じる。
