Forest Culture

Japanese: 森林文化 - しんりんぶんか

This concept refers to a cultural phenomenon that has formed out of the relationship between forests and humans, and is based on a pure and rich emotional attachment to nature, of fearing and respecting nature, and receiving the blessings that forests provide with gratitude, and implies "symbiosis between nature and humans" and "the fusion of mountains, trees, and people."

(1) Forest culture in the technical field Humans have two completely opposing relationships with forests: one is the aspect of “cutting” trees, such as cutting down trees to build houses or make paper, and the other is the aspect of “not cutting down” trees, such as storing water and maintaining greenery.
