Forest evaluation - Shinrinhyoka

Japanese: 森林評価 - しんりんひょうか

To evaluate the timber production and environmental conservation functions of forests. Timber production functions are evaluated based on the value of forest products as marketable goods. They are stored over long periods of time, and have asset value as tangible fixed assets, as well as value as sellable inventory once they reach maturity. At the end of the long-term silvicultural production process, products are obtained in the form of forest trees, and their value is realized on the market after the material production process of felling and transportation. On the other hand, during the long-term storage process, their functions as environmental goods, such as water source conservation, flood prevention, mountain disaster prevention, health and recreation, climate regulation, noise prevention, and protection of a society where living things coexist, are the subject of evaluation.

森林のもつ木材生産機能と環境保全機能を評価すること。木材生産機能は林産物の市場財としての価値を評価の対象とする。長期にわたりストックされ，有形固定資産としての財産価値および成熟した後は販売可能な棚卸資産としての価値をもっている。長期の育林生産過程の終りに林木の形で生産物が得られ，伐採，搬出による素材生産過程を経て市場で価値が実現される。この反面，長期間ストックされる過程では，水源涵養（かんよう）機能，洪水防止機能，山地災害防止機能，保健休養機能，気候調節機能，騒音防止機能，生物共存社会の保護機能など環境財としての働きが評価の対象となる。
