Aone [Hot Spring] - Aone

Japanese: 青根[温泉] - あおね

It is located in Kawasaki-cho, Shibata-gun, Miyagi Prefecture, at an altitude of 500m, on the eastern foot of Mt. Zao. It is said to have been opened in the mid-16th century, and was used as a hot spring resort for the lord of Sendai and his family during the Edo period. It is a simple hot spring with an abundant supply of water. 42°C. It is connected to the Zao Echo Line via Gaga Onsen, and offers views all the way to the Pacific Ocean. There are buses available from Shiroishi-Zao Station on the Tohoku Shinkansen, Ogawara Station, Shiroishi Station, and Sendai Station on the Tohoku Main Line.
