This shrine is located in Taiyuan city in the north China region of Shanxi Province, China, and is one of Taiyuan's most famous scenic spots. It was built in the Northern Wei Dynasty in the 11th century BC to enshrine Tang Shuyu, the son of King Wu of Zhou and the founder of the Jin state. As the saying goes, "Going to Taiyuan without visiting the Jin Shrine is like going to Beijing without visiting the ancient palaces," and the large-scale shrine-style classical garden is rare even in China, and the extremely graceful garden scenery is praised as the "Little Jiangnan" of Shanxi. In particular, the Hall of the Virgin Mary, the Statue of the Maids, and the Nanlao Spring are known as the "Three Wonders of the Jin Shrine," and are important cultural properties of China due to their high historical and artistic value.
