Located in Yonezawa City, Yamagata Prefecture, at the northern foot of Mt. Nishiazuma, along the Ootaru River. Also called Shirabu Takayu. It is said to have been discovered in the 14th century, and a hot spring guardian was stationed there. Gypsum-containing hydrogen sulfide spring. 60°C. There are many scenic spots such as Shirabu Otaki Falls, and there is a ropeway to Tengendai, where the international ski resort is located, and a tourist road called Nishiazuma Sky Valley to Bandai Plateau.
