…A group of researchers who worked mainly in the field of psychopathology at the University of Heidelberg in Germany in the 1920s and 1930s. Its main members were K. Wilmanns (1873-1945), Jaspers Gruehle, W. Mayer-Gross (1889-1961), and K. Beringer (1893-1949). The spiritual center of the group was Jaspers, whose methods of phenomenology and perceptual psychology he developed in his General Psychopathology (1913) pushed research into endogenous mental illnesses such as schizophrenia and manic depression, which had previously been limited to objective descriptions from the outside, toward elucidating the inner experiences of these conditions. …
