The Evian Agreement

The Algerian War Peace Agreement was signed in March 1962 at Evian-les-Bains on the shores of Lake Geneva between France and the National Liberation Front of Algeria. Based on this agreement, Algeria gained independence with 99.7% of the votes in a national referendum in July.
