Shirakawa

Japanese: 白川 - シラカワ

The name of the area around the Shirakawa River, which flows through the northeastern part of Kyoto City. During the Heian period, the Fujiwara clan's villa, Shirakawadono, was located here.
(Shirakawa) A city in the southern part of Fukushima Prefecture. Formerly a castle town of the Matsudaira clan. At the southern end of Nanko Park is the remains of Shirakawa Barrier. 京都市北東部を流れる白川流域の地名。平安時代に藤原氏の別邸白河殿があった。
（白河）福島県南部の市。もと松平氏の城下町。南湖公園、南端には白河関跡がある。平成17年（2005）11月、表郷おもてごう村・東村・大信たいしん村と合併。人口6.5万（2010）。
（白川）熊本県中部を流れる川。阿蘇山に源を発し、熊本平野を西流して熊本市で島原湾に注ぐ。長さ74キロ。
