Seeschlacht (English spelling)

…The “Schreidrama,” a scream drama in which lines are reduced to sound, was written by A. Strahm, who died in World War I. As the war drew to a close, works such as “Ein Geschlecht” by Fritz von Unruh (1885-1970) and “Seeschlacht” (1917) by Reinhard Göring (1887-1936), which showed a peaceful and anti-war tendency, appeared (Goering’s “Seeschlacht” was performed at the Tsukiji Little Theater when it was first established, and is said to have had a great influence on the new Japanese theater scene at the time). During World War I, many expressionist plays began to appear on stage in Mannheim, Frankfurt, Hamburg, and other cities, and in Berlin, M. Reinhard began a studio performance called “Young Germany.” …
