Food hygiene

Japanese: 食品衛生 - しょくひんえいせい
Food hygiene
It refers to the measures taken to ensure the safety, wholesomeness, and prevention of deterioration of food at all stages from production to processing, storage, distribution, and consumption. Food must be nutritious and hygienically safe. In addition, the utensils, containers, and packaging used to handle food must be hygienic, and the safety of anything added during processing must also be ensured. For this reason, hygienic management of food from production to consumption is necessary, and in Japan the Food Sanitation Act was enacted in 1947 to prevent the occurrence of hygiene hazards caused by eating and drinking.
