Kushta - Kushta

In the mythology of the Rig Veda, the god of craftsmanship, Tvashtri, used this tree as a scaffold when he created the world, and it is the model for the tree at the center of the world (creation). In the Atharva Veda, it is sung that the supreme magical drug, Kushta, was born from Ashvatta, the seat of the gods in the heavens. Its use as an ingredient in medicines (potions) can be found in Buddhist scriptures, and is still practiced by the people today.
