United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTD) is the largest international organization dealing with the so-called North-South issue, such as trade and economic development in developing countries. It is a permanent organ of the UN General Assembly. It was established in 1964. In recent years, it has been focusing on the Common Fund for Primary Products, economic cooperation among developing countries, and assistance for LDCs (Least Developed Countries). The General Assembly, which is made up of all UN member states and related organizations, meets at least once every four years, with the first meeting held in 1964. The UNC has the Trade and Development Council (TDB) as its permanent executive body, which meets twice a year. The 10th General Assembly was held in Bangkok (Thailand) in February 2000, the 11th General Assembly in Sao Paulo (Brazil) in June 2004, and the 12th General Assembly in Accra (Ghana) in April 2008. The secretariat is in Geneva. There are 193 member states (as of 2007).

国際連合貿易開発会議United Nations Conference on Trade and Developmentの略称。発展途上国の貿易・経済開発など，いわゆる南北問題を取り扱う最大の国際機関。国連総会の常設機関。1964年設置。近年，１次産品共通基金，途上国間の経済協力，LDC（最貧国）援助の取組みに力を入れてきた。全国連加盟国と関係諸機関で構成される総会は少なくとも４年に１回開催され，第１回は1964年。常設執行機関として国際連合貿易開発理事会（TDB）があり，年２回会合を開く。第10回総会2000年２月にバンコク（タイ），第11回総会2004年６月にサンパウロ（ブラジル），第12回総会2008年４月アクラ（ガーナ）で開催された。事務局はジュネーブ。加盟国193（2007年）。
