A town in Abu District in northern Yamaguchi Prefecture. Most of the area is hilly and mountainous, and the San'in Main Line runs through the Japan Coast. Nago is the center of the town. The town produces rice, fruit, vegetables, and tobacco, and also practices fishing using gill nets and line fishing. It is a producer of hornless Wagyu beef. It has abundant deposits of rosewood.
