A battle between Timur and the Ottoman Empire in 1402. Timur's army invaded Anatolia (Asia Minor) to invade Western Asia. The fourth Ottoman sultan, Bayezid I (the Terrible), hurriedly went to fight in Ankara, but was defeated and captured, and the Ottoman Empire split up (until 1412). 1402年ティムール軍とオスマン帝国軍の戦い。ティムール軍は西アジア遠征のためアナトリア（小アジア）に侵攻した。オスマン朝第４代スルタン，バヤジト１世（雷帝）は急遽アンカラに転戦したが，大敗して捕らえられ，オスマン朝は分裂した（1412年まで）。1403年バヤジト１世は病没。この事件をもとにC.マーローは《タンバレン大帝》を書いた。
