Jäger - Jäger

Japanese: イェガー - いぇがー
Jäger - Jäger

... Most visiting gods appear in strange forms, with people wearing masks, and this belief in visiting gods exists not only in Japan but in many societies, both primitive and civilized. A well-known example of a primitive society is the Duk-Duk of New Britain in Melanesia, and an example of a civilized society is the masked visiting god known as the Berchten or Jäger in Eastern Europe. This belief in visiting gods is also strongly recognized in Japan, and is particularly prevalent in the Tohoku region and the southern islands south of Kyushu.
