The last direct descendant of the Valois dynasty, King of France (reigned 1483-1498). Son of Louis XI. He ascended to the throne at the age of 13, and his sister Anne de Beaujeu and her husband became regents. In 1488, he put down a rebellion by the alliance of princes, and in 1491, he married the Duchess of Brittany and annexed the duchy to his kingdom. In 1495, he briefly invaded the Kingdom of Naples, but was defeated.
