The last ruler of the Khwarezmian dynasty. Reigned 1220-31. He defeated the Mongol army at the Battle of Parwān in northern Afghanistan, and when he was pursued by Genghis Khan, he escaped alone across the Indus River and made a name for himself. He worked hard to restore the dynasty, led an expedition to Baghdad in a conflict with the Abbasid caliph, and then fought against Öz Beg and captured Tabriz. He then led an expedition to Georgia, Armenia, and Anatolia. He was killed by the Kurds in the mountains of eastern Anatolia while trying to escape the Mongol army.

ホラズム･シャー朝の最後の君主。在位1220‐31年。アフガニスタン北部のパルワーンParwānの戦でモンゴル軍を破り，チンギス･ハーンに追われるや，単騎インダス川を渡って逃れて名をあげた。王朝再興のため尽力し，アッバース朝カリフとの抗争でバグダードへ遠征，その後ウズベクÖz Begと戦ってタブリーズを取り，グルジア，アルメニア，アナトリア遠征を行った。最後はモンゴル軍から逃れようとして，東部アナトリアの山中で，クルド人に殺された。
