When the human eye and brain look at a picture, they instantly determine what is depicted there. This is image recognition, and the previous stage is image processing. In response, medical image processing is a term that refers to the processing of image information to diagnose diseases from medical image information. A representative example of medical image processing is images obtained by X-ray computed tomography (CT) equipment. The cross-sectional images obtained by CT are the result created by image processing, but can also be considered image information from the secondary image processing that begins with this.
