Treaty of Eisho

…The So clan negotiated peace with Korea through the Ashikaga Shogunate and the Ouchi clan, and finally resumed trade in 1512. The condition for trade given by Korea at that time was the Jinshin Treaty. Some call it the Eisho Treaty, but calling it a treaty is not appropriate. The contents were: (1) Japanese people would not be allowed to reside in Miura; (2) the number of ships dispatched by the So clan would be halved to 25; (3) the annual gift of rice and beans to the So clan would be limited to 100 koku; (4) special ships would not be allowed to travel; (5) the number of craftsmen and librarians would be re-examined and reduced; and (6) the port of passage would be limited to Nojiura. …

…宗氏は足利将軍や大内氏にたよって朝鮮と講和の折衝を行い，1512年にようやく通交を再開できたが，そのとき朝鮮側から与えられた通交の条件が壬申約条である。永正条約とよぶ人もいるが，条約というよび方は適当ではない。内容は，(1)三浦に日本人が居留することを認めない，(2)宗氏の歳遣船は半減して25隻とする，(3)宗氏の歳賜米･豆は100石に限る，(4)特送船の渡航は許さない，(5)受職人，受図書人は再審査して数を減らす，(6)往来の港は乃而浦1港に限る，というものであった。…
