Apology Advertisement - Shazaikoukoku

Apology Advertisement - Shazaikoukoku
One method of compensation for defamation is for the perpetrator to apologize to the victim through an advertisement. For example, an article in a weekly magazine falsely reports facts and defames another person, and the writer and magazine company place an advertisement in the newspaper expressing their apology. In general, in torts, including defamation, compensation is paid in the form of money, but in defamation, the victim's reputation is not necessarily restored simply by receiving compensation.
