A former town in Arida County, central Wakayama Prefecture. Occupying the mountainous area in the upper reaches of the Arida River, most of the area is forest, and forestry is the main industry. It is home to the Futagawa Dam and Oishi Plateau, and the eastern part is part of the Koya-Ryujin Quasi-National Park. In January 2006, it merged with Kibi Town and Kanayama Town in Arida County to become Aridagawa Town, Arida County. Area: 195.96 ^km2 . Population: 5,060 (2003).

Bordering Fukui City, it is an agricultural region on the left bank of the Hino River, a tributary of the Kuzuryu River, and produces rice, wheat, soybeans, and other crops. It is a commuter town for Fukui City. In February 2006, it was incorporated into Fukui City along with Miyama Town, Asuwa District, and Koshino Village, Nyu District. ^{42.49 km2} . A town in Sunto District, eastern Shizuoka Prefecture. It is sandwiched between Numazu City and Mishima City, and National Route 1 runs through it. The manufacturing industry of automobile parts and machine parts is thriving. It also produces rice, strawberries, and persimmons. There are many springs fed by underground water from Mt. Fuji, which are used for industrial water and the city water supply. Area: 8.81 ^km2 . Population: 32,302 (2010).
