A mountain in central Nagano Prefecture. It is 2,403 meters above sea level. The Kita-Yatsugatake Ropeway runs to the summit. The name comes from the "striped withering phenomenon," in which the forest withers and leaves behind several rows of white stripes. It has been selected as one of Sumie Tanaka's "100 Famous Flower Mountains." Source: About Shogakukan Digital Daijisen Plus Information |
