Japanese: 戯場訓蒙図彙 - しばいきんもうずい

A commentary on Kabuki. Written by Shikitei Sanba. Illustrated by Katsukawa Shun'ei and the first Utagawa Toyokuni. Eight volumes. Published in 1803 (Kyowa 3). Since then, it has been reprinted and reprinted several times, including a reprint in 1806 (Bunka 3). The first print only has a colored print of Toyokuni's actor portraits from volume seven. In later prints, it is also titled Gijyo Kunmō Zue (The Playground Kinmō Picture). The theatrical world is likened to a single country, and following the example of Kunmō Zui, it classifies all the things in this world and provides an explanation centered on pictures. It was strongly influenced by the earlier Ukan Sandai Zue (The Playground Kinmō Picture), and there are also similarities with Gijyo Gakuya Zue (The Playground Gakuya Picture) from the same period.

歌舞伎解説書。式亭三馬著。勝川春英，初世歌川豊国画。8巻。1803年(享和3)刊。以後06年(文化3)の再板をはじめ数度後摺，復刻されている。初板のみは巻七の豊国描く役者似顔絵が色摺りである。後摺では《戯場訓蒙図絵》とも題する。芝居世界を一つの国に見立て，《訓蒙図彙》にならい，この世界のあらゆる事物を分類し絵を中心に解説する。先行の《羽勘三台図絵》の強い影響があり，同時期の《戯場楽屋図会》とも類似点が見られる。
