Binturong - Binturong (English spelling)

Japanese: ビンツロング - びんつろんぐ（英語表記）binturong

Also known as the binturong or bear cat. A mammal of the Viverridae family in the order Carnivora, whose name means "bear cat" in Malay (illustration). It is found in Myanmar, Indochina, the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, Java, Borneo, and Palawan. Its body length is 61-97 cm, its tail length 56-89 cm, and its weight 9-14 kg. Its body shape resembles that of a bear, but it has a long tail and is covered entirely in long hair. Its tail can be wrapped around objects. Its body hair is black, except for the tips of the hair, which are red or white, and the overall appearance can vary from gray to yellowish brown.

ビントロング，クマネコともいう。マレー語で“クマネコ”の意味をもつ食肉目ジャコウネコ科の哺乳類（イラスト）。ミャンマー，インドシナ，マレー半島，スマトラ，ジャワ，ボルネオ，パラワンに分布。体長61～97cm，尾長56～89cm，体重9～14kg。体つきはクマに似るが長い尾をもち，全身長毛でおおわれる。尾は物に巻きつけることができる。体毛は黒色だが，毛の先端のみ赤色か白色で，全体として灰色，黄褐色などさまざまに見える。
