Bleeding from the gums occurs when the gums are injured by mechanical external forces, but they can also bleed spontaneously due to local or systemic diseases. Local causes include trauma, various inflammations, and tumors, while systemic causes include vitamin C deficiency, bleeding tendency or bleeding diathesis, blood diseases, and systemic diseases that cause gingivitis. Most local causes are temporary and can be easily stopped. Systemic causes are not limited to the gums and can also cause bleeding in other parts of the body, and the bleeding is persistent and often difficult to stop.
