Aoki ruins

Japanese: 青木遺跡 - あおきいせき

This is a group of ruins located on the Chojabaru Plateau, about 1km east to west and 700m north to south, sandwiched between the Hino River and its tributary, the Hosshoji River, in the southern part of Yonago City, Tottori Prefecture. Surveys were conducted by the Tottori Prefectural Board of Education and the Yonago City Board of Education from 1971 to 1977, and about 1,000 remains were discovered in an area of 10 hectares in total in eight districts. Most of the remains date to the Yayoi to Kofun periods, and in the Yayoi period, the majority are dwelling sites dating from the mid-middle period, including about 60 pit dwellings and about 90 flatland post-hole buildings, as well as storage pits, pit graves, and earthenware coffins.

鳥取県米子市の南部，日野川とその支流の法勝寺川に挟まれた東西約1km，南北約700mの長者原台地にある遺跡群。1971‐77年に鳥取県教育委員会と米子市教育委員会が調査し，8地区の延べ10haの範囲から約1000基にのぼる遺構を検出した。遺構は大半が弥生～古墳時代のもので，弥生時代では中期中葉から始まる住居址が主体をなし，竪穴住居約60，平地掘立柱建物約90のほか，貯蔵穴，土坑墓，土器棺などがある。
