…前胸腺は最初ボクトウガの幼虫でリヨネP.Lyonetによりcorps grenuと記載された(1762)。その後他の昆虫でもみつかり，さまざまな名で呼ばれたが，この器官がエクジソンの産生器官であることを証明した福田宗一(1940)が，桂応祥(1930)の提出した前胸腺prothoracic glandの名称を用いたことから今日に至る。しかし，エクジソンを分泌する器官の存在位置は種によって異なり，かつその部域にちなんだ名称がそれぞれに付されているため総称はなく，現在では脱皮腺ecdysial glandの名称が提案されている。…
